Why this blog ?

January 26, 2010

As part of my job at AIP I keep track of advances in the editorial, technical and operational aspects of STM publishing and routinely feed information/analysis to pertinent individuals within the organization. Emailing has been the primary form of communication and as everyone knows this has inherent problems. Blogging has now become an ideal presentation forum and blogs are easily manageable. This intranet blog site where I can post my analysis reports, trip reports, information on current developments in STM publishing will help others at AIP read the material and provide their comments and feedback wherever appropriate. Other professionals at AIP are welcome to post entries in this context sensitive blog site on the STM publishing; send me an email ( when you are ready to do so.

What rules apply

I set the following rules for myself and expect others to follow:

  • Appropriateness and relevance of the blog entries to the AIP’s business
  • Strict adherence to the confidentiality of the expressed opinions
  • Read Andrew Sullivan’s informative article Why I Blog
